Sukhasana

Benefits :
Physical:
  • It stretches and Lengthening your spine.
  • Broadens your collarbones and chest.
  • Improves posture
  • Opens the hips
  • Strengthens the back
  • Stretches the knees and ankles

Emotional:
  • It calms the mind
  • Enhance the condition of peacefulness and serenity
  • Helps with anxiety and stress 
  • It refreshes a tired mind

Cautions:
  • severe leg, ankle or knee problems
  • lower back pain
  • sciatica

Method:
  • Sit in a comfortable cross legged position
  • To increase the stretch walk the hands forward

Hint: To make the pose more comfortable sit with the hips higher than the ankles

Variations: A great posture to do seated warm up poses for the neck, shoulders and side stretches
